Today, a prayer was answered that came from a very heavy heart.
I believe when we intensify our prayer time, come to Jesus with everything we have, and all that we do not, with a pure heart and true honesty, when we lay down the hurt, grievances, heartache – God desires to free us from it. And by freeing, we are saved. Again and again, we are saved by the love of Jesus.
“Don’t recite the same prayer over and over as the heathen do, who think prayers are answered only by repeating them again and again. Remember, your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!
There is never a place in our heart our life that our Father doesn’t know or can’t reach. Oftentimes we have very little faith, we believe our situation is so dire that God can’t fix it, but most of the time – we don’t need fixing, we need only to fix our eyes and heart on God, let him do the work. Let him in. Let him love you.
Oftentimes (usually) we are unaware of those who pray for us, or our loved ones – due to the many prayer circles we belong to and friendships we have (and those of the people we know and don’t know).
I received in my email today, a note from someone I don’t know – that encouraged me with this scripture: “I have loved you, with an everlasting love and I am constant in my affection for you.” Jeremiah 31: 3
The timing of this beautiful quote couldn’t have come at a better time, the irony (although this begs to God’s timing, not ours) is that it had been sitting in my email box since September 11th.
Do not be glib when you say you will pray for someone; make an effort. Pray with intention. You may not know what they need (and probably you don’t!), but God does. Let prayer become as natural to you as breathing.
We are complicated beings. If you have faith in God, you have one less stressor than most, and it’s a great comfort when in pain; emotional or physical.
However, it’s important we know when to care for ourselves, by letting others know — hey we need a break, or a nap, or I just require an hour to read.
Other human beings generally can’t read our minds, so if we don’t ask for what we need, they simply will not know.
Be kind to yourself. Do some deep breathing, stretch, nap, read a book, decompress.
Yes indeed, it is good when you truly obey our Lord’s command, “You must love and help your neighbors just as much as you love and take care of yourself.”
Pain; whether physical or emotional can be incredibly exhausting. Both take from us what we normally are able to handle. We can pray through most of our heartache, we can take medicine that heals our body or mind, we can even crawl into a cave (literally or figuratively) and hide for a few hours or days, but what we cannot do is hide from our Father.
In the depths of our despair, at the bottom of our pain tolerance, there He is. He is always there, no matter. Why do we turn away? Do we think we aren’t worthy when we are filled with the many feelings produced when we are down? It’s when we feel most unloved, that we are most loved.
Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always
lives to intercede for them.
If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith!
You matter. You always have.
When we are fearful, feeling alone, unsure or a myriad of other emotions that make us want to crawl into a cave or throw a blanket over our heads, what better time than to seek refuge from your heavenly Father? He is better than a cold, dark cave, and brings light back into our heart so we can cast off the heavy blanket.
Psalm 62:8 Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.
The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.
May the Lord
repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the Lord
, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.”
Today I’d like to share part of my testimony with you, which – until this morning, I didn’t realize I had! God doesn’t really work in mysterious ways, He reveals what we can handle!
The biggest source of healing in my life, has been emotional. All of my broken pieces have been soldered back together; not at one time, but over a period of many years. God has restored relationships and even healed memories.
The biggest eye opener for me; is that I left God behind, He never left. NEVER. He was always there, available to me if only I had asked. But I didn’t ask. Instead I let disappointment fuel my anger towards God. Some might say that is blasphemy, but I believe more than anything, God wants our honesty, he desires a close relationship with me. How can it be close if it’s superficial? God has seen me at my absolute worst, not many of us have gotten that close to another human being. “Warts and all” a description to sum up what God accepts from me.
Share your testimony, here or with another. Let the story of your life be a ‘saving piece.’
If you are feeling rundown, overworked, tired, or feeling a lack of faith — it may be time to decompress, recharge your batteries, find some quiet.
2 Chronicles 20:30
So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet
: for his God gave him rest round about.
And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quiet
ness and assurance for ever.
Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
The world is a place filled with violence, unrest, sorrow and anger. It is also a place filled with beauty, love and peace. How can we ever find a healthy, spiritual balance?

Psalm 32:7 You are a hiding place for me; You, Lord, preserve me from trouble, You surround me with songs and shouts of deliverance.
Acts 20:32 And now [brethren], I commit you to God [I deposit you in His charge, entrusting you to His protection and care]. And I commend you to the Word of His grace [to the commands and counsels and promises of His unmerited favor]. It is able to build you up and to give you [your rightful] inheritance among all God’s set-apart ones (those consecrated, purified, and transformed of soul).
