God calls us to serve one another; it is the greatest contribution we can make. Serving others, shines the light of Jesus on those in our life; and particularly those we do not know. Being kind, helpful, volunteering your time, abilities, money, gives an opening of conversation that we might not have ever had. What does the bible say about service?
Jeremiah 9:24 If you feel you must brag, then have enough sense to brag about worshiping me, the Lord. What I like best is showing kindness, justice, and mercy to everyone on earth.
1 Peter 4:8-9 Most important of all, you must sincerely love each other, because love wipes away many sins. Welcome people into your home and don’t grumble about it.
Leviticus 25:35 The Lord said: If any of your people become poor and unable to support themselves, you must help them, just as you are supposed to help foreigners who live among you.
Deuteronomy 15:8 Instead, be kind and lend them what they need.
